Emergency responders recovered a body from the East River Friday night as search efforts are ongoing for two teenagers who are separately believed to have drowned earlier this week, police and FDNY spokespersons confirmed.

Around 7 p.m. on Friday city agencies responded to a 911 call of a body floating in the East River near E. 34th St. and the FDR Drive in Manhattan, authorities said. First responders, including FDNY Marine 6 and NYPD Harbor Patrol, recovered the body of a male of unknown age, who was pronounced dead at the scene, cops and the FDNY said.

The recovery comes at the end of a week during which authorities have been searching for the bodies of a teenage girl and a teenage boy who are presumed to have drowned after entering the water in separate incidents.
