PORTLAND, Ore. — A man has been hospitalized after he was shot by a Multnomah County deputy Friday evening.
The incident took place in the 4600 block of Northeast 116th Avenue around 5:07 p.m. The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) initially stated that a "Multnomah County deputy-involved shooting" had occurred in the Parkrose neighborhood and that a man had been transported to the hospital with injuries.
Later, PPB said police were responding to a disturbance call involving a weapon at 3:43 p.m., in which two men were fighting. When officers arrived, they briefly detained a possible suspect for investigation; no crime victim was found, and the suspect was released to go home.
