LAS VEGAS (KLAS) - A new development is on the way for those seeking affordable housing.

The City of Las Vegas just approved a 282-unit senior apartment complex to be built on 15 acres of land on Hickam Avenue and Jordanville Street in the northwest valley.

Located on federal land, the City of Las Vegas is working with HUD and the Bureau of Land Management to get construction underway by the end of 2025.

"We have a huge shortage of housing for individuals on fixed income, so that includes seniors and people that are on disabilities," City of Las Vegas Neighborhood Services Director Arcelia Barajas explained.
