COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — The Columbus Arts Festival faced some rain on Friday, prompting artists to quickly adapt to protect their work.

Said Oladejo-Lawal, an artist at the festival, said, "You see, my booth has a double layer of plastic. The tent has a layer. Then I have like shower curtains. That's their canvases, and you don't want them soggy. That's not fun. Although I prepared them for that, just in case you had a splash, you can."

Ron Schmidt, another artist, shared his strategy, saying, "It's coming, I cover my work up, keep it as dry as possible, and wait for the sun to come back up."

Despite the weather, the festival continues rain or shine, with organizers prioritizing safety if severe weather comes in. Jami Goldstein, the Greater Columbus Arts Council's Chief Creative Office
