Lansing — U.S. Sen. Elissa Slotkin, a Democrat from Holly, told a crowd in mid-Michigan Friday night that her party owes the public an "alternative vision" for the country's future and she's developing a plan she hopes to unveil in the coming weeks.
Slotkin, who was elected to the Senate in November, discussed her upcoming strategy for going on "offense" against Republicans who hold the presidency with Donald Trump and majorities in Congress at a town hall event, hosted by the Michigan Democratic Party, inside the gym at Lansing's Everett High School.
The event, which drew about 350 people, occurred in the battleground U.S. House district of Rep. Tom Barrett, R-Charlotte. Slotkin used to represent the district before being elected to the U.S. Senate.
