CROWN POINT — No one was injured Friday evening after a fire broke out in the kitchen of downtown Crown Point's Provecho restaurant.
The Crown Point Fire Department responded at 7:12 p.m. to the restaurant, located on the east side of the Crown Point Square, fire chief Mark Baumgardner told The Times.
The fire was extinguished and crews cleared the scene approximately one hour later. No one was hurt.
Baumgardner said the department hasn't confirmed what caused the fire, but said it originated in the wood-burning oven and possibly spread through its exhaust system.
The department will share more details about the fire later Friday, Baumgardner said.
