Two youths allegedly sexually assaulted by a musician in Palm Desert were identified after a boy came forward in April alleging the man had made illegal recordings in a public bathroom, prompting authorities Friday to announce that additional criminal charges will be sought against the defendant.

Joseph Paul Seiders, 44, of Palm Desert is charged with felony possession of child pornography and misdemeanor counts of intent to invade privacy through use of a concealed camera, annoying a minor and attempted invasion of privacy.

Seiders was arraigned on those counts in mid-April. He’s being held in lieu of $1 million bail at the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning and is scheduled to make another court appearance on June 20 at the Larson Justice Center in Indio.
