BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- It's about to get much easier to transition from the eastbound Westside Parkway onto northbound Highway 99.
The Kern Council of Governments announced late Friday afternoon that the California Transportation Commission intends to completely fund the Centennial Corridor to the tune of $39.9 million -- part of the state's $810 million Trade Corridor Enhancement Program.
Last year's much celebrated Centennial Corridor extension linked eastbound 58 to southbound 99. This new piece of the freeway puzzle will get traffic off surface streets onto directly onto northbound 99.
