PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A man was taken to the hospital Friday evening after being injured in a shooting that involved a Multnomah County sheriff’s deputy in the Parkrose neighborhood, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

It happened on Northeast 116th Avenue near Prescott Street, not far from Parkrose High School.

The man's condition was not immediately known.

There is a large police presence at the scene.

Police have closed 116th Avenue between Sandy Boulevard and Prescott.

Police have also closed Sandy Boulevard between 112th and 118th avenues.

No officers or deputies were injured.
