NASHUA – In many games, the start can be just as important as the finish.

The Nashua High School boys lacrosse team learned that postseason lesson in falling short of No. 9 Dover, 14-11 in a Division I first-round game on Friday at Stellos Stadium.

The eighth-seeded Panthers allowed Dover to jump out to an 8-3 halftime lead and 9-3 early in the third quarter before climbing back to within 12-11 with 4:18 to play.

But it was the Green Wave that closed it out, earning the trip to Derry on Saturday for a 1 p.m. quarterfinal with top seed Pinkerton.

“I think it was the first half,” Dover coach Chris Ketcham said. “We came out pretty strong in the first half. We got a big game out of Logan Carter. He was racking them up in the first half.”

Carter scored three straight in the second quarter
