GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro city leaders have unveiled a new five-year Community Safety Plan.

The plan focuses on preventing and reducing violence through building community partnerships and encouraging neighborhood involvement.

The Community Safety Plan began at the first Peace on Purpose event hosted in June 2023, according to the city.

“This five-year plan was created with the community,” said Community Safety Director Latisha McNeil. “The City and its partners are committed to working collectively to achieve holistic safety for all of Greensboro—on every block, in every neighborhood.”

According to the plan documents, the city plans to partner with job programs, reentry services, and Guilford County Schools to support people coming out of jail and youth.
