HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police are investigating after video of alleged child abuse in West Oahu went viral.

The video was taken in the Kapolei Commons parking lot and shared by HHHNewz.

Police said they were notified of the video Thursday night by a caller who reported the alleged abuse and identified both the suspect, a 34-year-old woman, and the victim, an 11-year-old girl.

The initial investigation revealed that the victim is autistic, and the suspect is her mother.

Police found the 34-year-old, along with her daughter, in the Kapolei area Friday at around 10 a.m.

The suspect also had her 3-year-old son with her, and both children were brought into protective custody.

Officials said no arrests have been made and are pending further investigation.
