SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) - One person is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Allen County.

The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) was requested by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Shockley Road in Scottsville.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Allen County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Shockley Road. When they arrived, deputies encountered a white male armed with a firearm.

One deputy discharged his agency-issued weapon, fatally striking the man who was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as 42-year-old Joshua R. Stanka, of Brownsville.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
