BISMARCK, N.D. (KMOT) – The North Dakota Legislative Council is recommending Gov. Kelly Armstrong call a special session to rectify a line-item veto by the governor that mistakenly vetoed millions in housing funding.
Last month, Armstrong said he issued a line-item veto of $35 million from the Housing Incentive Fund, calling it an “honest mistake.”
In a memo shared with Your News Leader Friday, the council said it would be the ‘prudent remedy’ for Armstrong to call a session, thus avoiding using the remaining extra days lawmakers have saved.
