A Monroe man has been charged with calling in a fake bomb threat for a Spirit Airlines flight at Detroit Metro Airport on Thursday that resulted in the flight being canceled.

Turns out the man was booked on the flight but missed it and hoped the fake bomb threat would delay it long enough for him to get on board and not reschedule a flight, according to an FBI affidavit.

According to the court document, John Charles Robinson, 23, phoned in a fake bomb threat at 6:25 a.m. to Spirit Airlines regarding Flight 2145, a Detroit flight bound for Los Angeles.
