TACOMA, Wash. — One of the area's largest hospital systems is laying off more than 100 people.
According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) 116 employees with Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Virtual Health Services will lose their jobs starting in July.
In a statement from Chad Melton, the Interim President of the Puget Sound Market of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, he said around 200 employees will be impacted by the changes being made.
Melton said “to protect access to care long term, we are realigning resources and improving operational efficiency. This includes transitioning several virtual services and administrative functions.”
