MAINE, USA — A Maine dog rescue is seeing a hopeful response after calling for help earlier this week.
Pittie Posse Rescue and Sanctuary reports that it received 13 applications from people interested in fostering dogs following recent media coverage , including from NEWS CENTER Maine and local radio stations.
The nonprofit had paused accepting new dogs after running low on available foster families. The group rescues dogs from high-kill shelters in Georgia and takes in local owner surrenders and cases of animal cruelty.
While staff say they’re encouraged by the response, they’re still looking for more people to foster or adopt. Those interested can visit Pittie Posse’s website or follow them on social media.
The organization hopes to pair all new applicants with a dog soon. One f
