COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa —

A crash involving a school bus killed two people and injured three others.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, a Volkswagen Tiguan pulled onto the roadway and was struck by a school bus near Highway 34 and 195th Street around 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Both occupants of the Tiguan, identified as 62-year-old Ralph and 66-year-old Perla Schultz, died.

The driver of the school bus, identified as 63-year-old Jeanette Henderson, and three girls from the St. Albert's softball team sustained minor injuries.

The Iowa State Patrol said there were 24 people on the bus.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
