After the Frederick Flying Cows took a one-point lead late in the fourth quarter of a back-and-forth contest, the Raleigh Firebirds’ Shaq Dance rattled off 10 consecutive points, including a pair of dagger 3-pointers, to quickly turn the contest in his team’s favor.

Dance’s outburst vaulted Raleigh to a 105-97 win over Frederick in Game 1 of The Basketball League’s Southeast Conference Finals on Friday night at Saint Augustine’s University. The best-of-three series shifts to Frederick on Sunday, and the Flying Cows must win out to remain alive in the playoffs.
