ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A chance to help local animal shelters in East Alabama combat overcrowding will take place on Saturday.
It’s called Paws at the Falls in Gadsden where three agencies will come together for a common cause to save lives.
“Etowah County Animal Shelter, Gadsden Humane Society and Rainbow City Animal Shelter are all at full capacity most of the time,” said Gracie Griggs with the Etowah County Animal Shelter.
A way to fix the problem is by coming together as one and having an Etowah County Adoption Day.
Griggs says they need these types of events for the animals.
“We’re struggling and so that’s why these adoption events really, really matter, and they mean a lot to us. Cause it means we get to make space for more animals that need us,” said Griggs.
