COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Colorado Springs Police Department said a woman has been arrested after school staff members raised concerns regarding child abuse.

Police said on Thursday, around 10:35 a.m., charter school staff members contacted the police department about a child possibly being abused.

Officers said Crimes Against Children and Forensic Interview Units responded to complete the investigation, ultimately deciding they had probable cause to arrest 29-year-old Lizbeth Salinas Mijangos for child abuse.

Department of Human Services caseworkers also responded, and police said they ensured the safety of the children in the home.

“CSPD would like to express appreciation for the staff members who noticed that something was wrong and who were diligent enough to report it,”
