LINCOLN, Neb. — Lincoln defeated Fargo-Moorhead 7-4 on Friday in the first game of a three-game series before 6,138 at Haymarket Park.

The RedHawks' mini-skid continues. They have lost three in a row and are 3-5 in their last eight games.

The teams more or less traded runs in the early going and Lincoln led 5-3 through five innings.

The RedHawks pulled within a run at 5-4 in the top of the eighth inning. Alexfri Planez singled with one out, and Peter Brookshaw and Miguel Ojeda drew back-to-back walks to load the bases. Planez scored on Aidan Byrne's fielder's choice but the Saltdogs got a fly out to prevent further damage.

That's all the RedHawks could muster. Lincoln pulled further ahead with two runs in the bottom of the eighth, and Saltdogs reliever Dutch Landis came on in the ninth
