LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- After nearly three years, the John Smoltz Strikeout Baseball USA Stadium is set to hold its grand opening in downtown Lansing.

Strikeout baseball is faster than normal baseball, doesn't require all the equipment, and can be played with as little as two people. There are no baserunners, different fielding rules as well as hitting strategies.

Jeff Lazaros is the mastermind behind the stadium in Ferris Park and bringing something like this to Lansing has been Jeff Lazaros' dream for over two decades in the making. Jeff Lazaros teamed up with Hall of Fame pitcher for the Atlanta Braves, Waverly High School Alum, and current MLB analyst John Smoltz, whom the stadium is named after.
