FENTON — A few observations from wins by Cor Jesu and St. Dominic in the Class 4 state soccer semifinals on Friday.

Cor Jesu beat Nixa 7-0. St. Dominic knocked off Lee's Summit West 3-0.

St. Dominic (15-6) will face Cor Jesu (21-1) in the title match at 7 p.m. at Soccer Park. Cor Jesu beat St. Dominic 3-0 in a regular-season match on April 5.

Just Try And Stop DiMaria

The Nixa Eagles came up with a unique way to temporarily slow down Cor Jesu sophomore super-sniper Maddie DiMaria.

It was a temporary fix.

She was fouled twice in the box on infractions that led to successful penalty kicks for DiMaria, who finished with four goals.
