TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Silversmiths gathered at the Magic Valley Arts Council on Friday to interact and learn trade secrets from Montana and Wyoming professionals.
The event is a time to showcase traditional cowboy art, with silversmiths crafting bits for horses, belt buckles, and jewelry.
“It sort of highlights this art form. These creative expressions that are going around the community that we may not know, that aren’t readily available from day to day,” said Steven Hatcher, the Idaho Commission on the Arts Director of the Folk and Traditional Arts Program.
This all leads up to the Idaho Silversmith’s Artisan Auction on Saturday, June 7, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Magic Valley Arts Council; the auction is open to the public.
Some of the money raised will help go to scholars
