TULSA, Okla. (KFDA) - The Amarillo Sod Poodles defeated the Tulsa Drillers, 6-5, on Friday.
Amarillo got on the board first in the second inning, but Tulsa took a 3-2 lead by the end of the 5th. Amarillo answered in the sixth, and scored the game-winning run in the top of the 9th.
Christian Cerda led the Sod Poodles, batting 1-3 with two RBIs, including a game-winning solo homer in the 9th. He was joined by Manuel Pena’s 2 RBIs on the team.
Philip Abner got the win for Amarillo, his first of the season. Jeisson Cabrera took the loss for Tulsa, his first of the year, as well.
With the win, Amarillo improves to 23-32 on the year, while Tulsa falls to 24-31.
The series continues on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. CST at ONEOK Field in Tulsa.
