CALICO ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — Convicted murderer and rapist Grant Hardin, a former police chief, has been recaptured after a nearly two-week manhunt. Hardin was apprehended shortly after 3 p.m. near Moccasin Creek in Izard County, just a mile and a half from the North Central Unit from which he escaped.

Arkansas law enforcement, alongside the U.S. Border Patrol, located Hardin using tracking dogs. The extensive search involved hundreds of officers from multiple county sheriff's offices, state police, and federal agencies, including the FBI. The search utilized both dogs and drones to navigate the rugged Ozark Mountain terrain.
