An active weather pattern is setting up for the weekend, with a couple of storm systems expected to roll through each afternoon. The exact timing and path of these systems will be the deciding factor in how severe the weather gets.

Get ready for a hot and humid day. Highs will reach the low 90s with heat index values near 100 degrees. This muggy air will act as fuel for a line of storms expected to move through in the afternoon and evening. There's a good amount of energy (instability) which could lead to strong, organized lines of storms. The biggest concern will be damaging wind gusts. We are still nailing down the exact track, so whether the strongest storms hit the CSRA or stay further south is still a bit uncertain.
