AUSTIN, Texas — First responders in Austin found two people who briefly went missing in Lady Bird Lake Friday night.
According to the Austin Fire Department (AFD), crews were called to the 100 block of E Cesar Chavez St. after a caller stated that two people jumped from a river boat into the water.
According to AFD, the caller said that after the two jumped into the water, they began swimming toward the shoreline before the caller lost sight of them.
Crews were assisted by Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) with a drone, and an AFD boat also assisted with the search.
According to a post on X at 10:39 p.m. from Austin Fire Info, the two people were located on shore by the Austin Police Department.
