MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Reading Project is looking ahead to its READ(y) to Wear 2025 design competition, which supports local literacy.
Teams will send their creations down the runway at the Sylvee in downtown Madison Wednesday, June 11.
Each design will showcase this year's theme, Legends and Fairytales.
One of those legends features the Wisconsin tale of the Rhinelander Hodag.
"The Hodag also has a Tyvek suit and claws out of paper, so he is almost 100% paper. I think with the use of paper you just have lots of options too, more than you realize," designer Sarah Best said.
Designers are challenged with making their designs mostly or entirely out of paper, a nod to the Madison reading project.
