The National Weather Service released a flood watch at 9:55 p.m. on Friday in effect until Saturday at 3 p.m. for Schoharie, Schenectady, Saratoga, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Columbia and Ulster counties.
The weather service says, "Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible."
"Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas," comments the weather service. "You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued."
