The Sumter County School District announced Friday that a Florida Department of Education Inspector General's report confirmed accusations of "serious misconduct" by the former administration in creating "shell schools" to withdraw and transfer students to in order to bolster schools' grades districtwide.

The wide-ranging report , released Friday, looked into allegations that virtual schools were set up at multiple Sumter schools, that students were withdrawn without parental notification at selective times and that it was all in an effort to increase the average grades of the schools.

The schools included in the report are:

Wildwood Elementary School

Wildwood Middle and High School

Webster Elementary School

South Sumter Middle School

The report states around 200 "low-performing"
