BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin and other city leaders have amended their lawsuit challenging the legality of the new Birmingham Regional Water Board.

The lawsuit now names Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall and members of the new regional water works board as defendants.

Mayor Woodfin and the other plaintiffs are asking a judge to prevent the use of the law that dissolved the old Birmingham Water Works Board and formed the new regional one.

Birmingham city attorney Nicole King says leaders are waiting for action from the court.
