Fractured toe? No problem.
After missing the previous two games with a fractured pinky toe, Francisco Lindor was called called upon to pinch-hit in the top of the ninth inning of a 2-2 game against the Colorado Rockies.
Lindor didn’t disappoint, hitting a two-run double with two outs that eventually gave the Mets a 4-2 win at Coors Field.
The runs gave Edwin Diaz a nice cushion to secure his 14th save of the season.
Lindor’s heroics was enough to pull out a win in a game the Mets again struggled to come through with runners in scoring position. Before the All-Star shortstop’s at-bat in the ninth, the Mets were 1-for-14 with RISP.
