SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - It’s a story we’ve been covering for a decade at this point – a deaf woman from Springfield has been fighting for guardrails to be put outside of her house after multiple cars have crashed into her property.
Katie Ramos has been pushing for a guardrail in front of her house for years, and finally, her and her family can sleep safely at night. It’s a happy ending for Katie Ramos and her family.
“I couldn’t believe the day that they arrived, they were setting it up. I thought it was a dream,” Ramos said.
The deaf couple have been pushing for a guardrail to be installed outside of their Nottingham Street house since 2015.
“It was a big struggle for many years, because I wasn’t getting what I wanted to keep my family safe,” Ramos told us.
