Twenty years ago, a Cincinnati man with diabetes collapsed on his porch after having a seizure and was saved by a boy who called for help.
WLWT News 5's Anchor, Sheree Paolello, interviewed Larry McGonegle more than two decades ago when he was hoping for a life-saving pancreas transplant. Advertisement
He got it in 2005, and the rest is history.
On Friday, WLWT reunited with McGonegle, a nurse who took care of him and the doctor who saved his life.
"I'm so thankful that I'm here today to share my story," McGonegle said.
It was around Christmas 23 years ago when McGonegle, then a type 1 diabetic, had a seizure on an Oakley front porch when a little boy noticed him and called for help.
