ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - People in Roanoke have a new place to cool off from summer heat.
The Washington Park pool welcomed dozens of people Friday, with a ribbon-cutting and announcement of the completion of the park.
“This is a moment of joy, a moment of excitement, anticipation. It’s been building up, and it’s been building up, and it’s been building up. And it’s so nice to see it come to fruition,” said Cindy McFall, director of Roanoke Parks and Recreation.
Children from the West End Center for Youth had the chance to test the waterslides, lazy pool and more, confirming that the pool was indeed summer fun-ready.
