Mark Link was born May 17, 1956, in Wheeling, W.Va., to Harold and Imelda Link. He was the fourth of five children. He died peacefully at home after a brief illness on April 25, 2025, with the support of his family and Kaiser Hospice of Oregon.

Mark was born a Pittsburgh Pirates Baseball fan. He also loved watching the Steelers on Sundays, and always enjoyed a good campfire, which earned him the nickname “pyro”.

Mark moved to Los Angeles in 1979, where he worked in telecommunications with General Telephone. He met his wife, Jill on a bike ride along the beach. They recently celebrated 43 years of marriage. They moved their family to Oregon in 1986, where Mark worked at the Oregon Health Science University in telecommunications. He celebrated his retirement in 2015 with a family Wiffle ba
