SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The Trump administration has agreed to slash tariffs on China with a 90-day pause, but the increased tax on imported goods has already left a major impact on some stores in San Diego.

Black-owned Royal Creations Beauty Supply buys between 30 - 50 percent of their braiding hair, wigs, and hair care products from other countries, and before the summer heat hits, some Black San Diegans have stopped by the shop to plan their next hairstyle.

“The beauty industry is a multibillion-dollar industry, and unfortunately a lot of folks of color have no place to go,” said Reginald White, the director of sales at Royal Creations Beauty Supply Store.
