Gun used was stolen from Butler County store

A teen was arrested Friday, June 6, in connection with an attempted armed robbery on a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus using a gun stolen from a Butler County business, according to reports from TV stations WPXI and KDKA.

According to news reports, a 15-year-old is one of four suspects in the alleged robbery of a woman on May 29.

The woman’s husband intervened, causing a physical altercation in which one of the suspects pulled a handgun, police say. The husband wrestled the gun away and gave it to his wife, who left the bus with it. Police later recovered the gun and found it to have been stolen from Keystone Shooting Center in Mars.

Following the incident, law enforcement utilized surveillance footage to search for the suspects.
