Bookcliff Country Club is not an easy golf course on an average day.
But when the most talented amateur golfers in Colorado roll into town, the course’s grounds crew ups the ante.
In anticipation of this year’s 64th rendition of the Colorado West Amateur, held at the course Friday through Sunday, the staff at Bookcliff Country Club has been hard at work with rigorous watering regiments and tight grass trims to prepare the greens for championship-level competition. The resulting conditions for golfers competing for this year’s CWA crown is fast.
“They’re playing real fast compared to the other courses in town,” Sean Cook said, “but the greens are rolling true.”
