JONESBORO — P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) Chapter AJ held a reception in celebration of their 75th anniversary of the chapter and to recognize 11 long standing members. The Chapter was organized on January 13, 1950, and received recognition from the State Chapter on April 20, 1950.
The power of the Sisterhood was granted to the following Founders: Elizabeth Crawford, the first president, Pearl Gray, Lillian Turner, Betty Brown, Norma Rhae Grisham, Frances Puryear, Mary Markle, Marion Hughes, Betty Sloan, Martha Patrick, Mildred Watson, Florence Cox, Dorothy Rebsamen, Jane Evans and Sara Young.
