The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) recently announced the arrest of a security guard at Donaldson Correctional Facility in Jefferson County, charging her with possession and trafficking of illegal drugs.

ADOC was notified on Thursday that a guard, Aniki Jones, was acting suspiciously. During an investigation by ADOC’s Law Enforcement Services Division (LESD), Jones was detained after trying to avoid being shaken down. She then admitted having marijuana in her possession.

ADOC LESD conducted interviews and collected three contraband packages, which were discovered to contain marijuana, methamphetamine, and an unknown substance.

The contraband included 230 grams of marijuana and 172 grams of methamphetamine.

Jones was transported to the Jefferson County Jail and has been charge
