Wace Williams held on and earned a 72-point score in his second go at bull riding at the Montana High School Rodeo State Finals Friday at Majestic Valley Arena.

The ride put him atop the standings as the rodeo heads into the championship rounds Saturday at 1 p.m.

Williams also scored a 49.5 in the bareback competition, placing him fourth with a 49.5-point effort.

Kalispell’s Zoey Bruyer clocked a 3.02 second run in breakaway roping Friday, good enough for fourth in the second go-round.

Isabella Moran was 10th in the barrel racing during the second go-round with a 16.29 second time, but sits fifth in the average with a total time of 32.37 seconds.

Whitefish’s Ruby Ray sits right behind Moran with a 32.62 total time.
