AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn rallied from a 6-1 deficit and took Coastal Carolina to extras but could not find a way to win the first game of the Auburn Super Regional, falling 7-6.
Butch Thompson's squad fell behind early and then had to sit for more than an hour as a weather delay stopped play at Plainsman Park in the 6th inning.
The Tigers put three runs on the board when play resumed but never took the lead.
Coastal's star catcher Caden Bodine homered twice, once in the 2nd and once in the 10th, powering the Chants in the win.
The Tigers will face elimination in Game 2, which is set to begin on Saturday at 2 p.m.
