On Saturday at 3:17 a.m. a flood watch was released by the National Weather Service in effect until 3 p.m. for Schoharie, Schenectady, Saratoga, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Columbia, Ulster and Dutchess counties.

The weather service describes, "Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible."

"Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas," explains the weather service. "Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued."
