Grassy Sound Fishing Pier, a popular Cape May County destination for fishing and crabbing, is set to reopen on June 13 for the first time in three years.

The county-owned pier, which has been closed due to structural concerns, was part of a roughly $3 million renovation project in 2024, according to a news release.

The renovation, approved by the Cape May County Commissioners, included removing the dilapidated fishing pier, replacing the bulkhead, improving lighting and signage, and upgrading parking and ADA access. Once reopened, the pier will provide free access for fishing and crabbing.
