Seriously, though, what has been in the water around here lately?

In fewer than 40 days, we’ve seen Mike Sullivan and Derek Shelton fired and Dan Muse and Don Kelly hired or promoted to replace them, the second of those theoretically only through 2025. (Hint: Kelly isn’t going anywhere.)

On the football side, the Aaron Rodgers saga mercifully ended with the most likely outcome — the four-time NFL MVP signing a one-year deal — while George Pickens now works for Jerry Jones. What could possibly go wrong?

It’s been a fast and furious reshaping of our professional sports teams, an abrupt transition on all three fronts.

The moves might just work, too.
