CITRONELLE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Citronelle football program has improved every year under head coach Jason Rowell. The Wildcats will look to build on their success in 2025. Rowell enters his third season with the program. Citronelle won six games 2023 and finished with nine wins last season, including a playoff victory.
The Wildcats went on the road and beat Shelby County 14-9 to score their first postseason win in 15 years. The Wildcats lost to eventual state champion Montgomery Catholic in round two. Rowell has been pleased with the team's work ethic in the offseason.
"I'm hoping those guys (the seniors) continue to step up and grow and that our offensive lines and defensive lines continue to grow up," Rowell said. "Having the depth that we have back at the offensive line you get excited
