PORT ANGELES — The trial date for a Port Angeles man charged with attempted murder and felony harassment has been moved to Aug. 25.

Clallam County Superior Court Judge Brent Basden granted a motion for continuance on Tuesday by deputy prosecuting attorney Matthew Roberson and public defender Charles Commeree.

The trial was set to begin Monday.

Brian Lee Lester, 38, allegedly fired a gun at a vehicle driven by Michael Lynch at the 9/11 Memorial Water Park on April 11. He also allegedly threatened to kill Lynch.

The vehicle’s owner, Dorothy Hunt-Wood, was in the passenger seat at the time of the incident.

Lester’s next court date is at 1 p.m. July 11 for a status hearing. He is currently being held in the Clallam County Jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
